Warehouse Team Lead

Location: Arcade, NY

The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily warehouse activities to ensure the efficient and accurate processing of inventory. This role involves overseeing a team of warehouse associates, ensuring safety compliance, managing inventory flow, and optimizing warehouse operations. The Warehouse Team Lead ensures high productivity, accuracy, and customer satisfaction while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Description

  1. Team Leadership:
    1. Supervise, motivate, and direct a team of warehouse associates.
    2. Assign daily tasks to team members and monitor performance to meet productivity goals.
    3. Train and mentor new and existing team members on warehouse processes and safety procedures.
    4. Conduct regular team meetings to ensure alignment with operational goals and company objectives.
  2. Warehouse Operations:
    1. Oversee the picking, packing, shipping, and receiving processes to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
    2. Monitor inventory levels, and ensure items are stored correctly to avoid damage and minimize loss.
    3. Manage the organization of stock, ensuring proper labeling, shelving, and location accuracy.
    4. Operate and maintain warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scanners safely.
  3. Inventory Management:
    1. Conduct regular inventory counts, reconcile discrepancies, and address issues related to stock levels or damaged goods.
    2. Assist in maintaining accurate records of all products, shipments, and receipts in the warehouse management system (WMS).
    3. Ensure proper stock rotation and handling of goods to reduce waste and ensure optimal inventory flow.
  4. Safety and Compliance:
    1. Enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment, conducting safety inspections and addressing hazards as necessary.
    2. Ensure team members adhere to all safety guidelines, OSHA standards, and warehouse best practices.
    3. Assist in ensuring that all warehouse operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  5. Continuous Improvement
    1. Identify opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance workflow.
    2. Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to implement and drive changes in processes or technology.
    3. Collect feedback from team members to suggest improvements in systems and operations.
  6. Reporting and Documentation
    1. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and any issues that need resolution.
    2. Document and track incidents, accidents, or any deviations from standard procedures.
    3. Ensure accurate reporting of performance metrics (e.g., order accuracy, on-time delivery, etc.).
  7. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain management, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
    • Prior experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
    • Familiarity with inventory control systems and best practices.
  • Certifications:
    • Forklift certification (if applicable).
    • OSHA safety certification is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50lbs) as needed.
    • Ability to stand, bend, or crouch for long periods and work in a warehouse environment with variable temperatures.
